Vans have teamed up with Gorilla Biscuits now to add to their line of hardcore bands with Shoes (see also Bad Brains). In sort of related Gorilla Biscuits news, one of Walter Schreifels many musical endeavors, Rival Schools will have a new album out this fall, which presumably will rule.
As we have mentioned before every Metal band seems to be getting shoes these days. The photos of the Mastodon Vans have been floating around the internet for a couple weeks since being spotted in an ad in Decibal, but we figured better late then never to post about ‘em. High tops and slip ons featuring the artwork of Blood Mountain. The artwork was created by the fantastic Paul Romano. You can check out more of his work at Workhardened.com.
Another trend in the metal world seems to be getting your own comic book, most recently announced were comics from Dimmu Borgir pictured below and God Forbid. Dimmu Borgir’s comic is called Dark Fortress and is the ” first in a series of books influenced by the lyrical, artistic and musical concepts from Nuclear Blast’s polarizing roster of bands translated into the comic medium by the creative teams at Terminal Press.” So we can expect more comics to come.
God Forbid will have a cameo appearance in the comic book “Eternal Descent.” The issue will feature a story line loosely based on their latest album IV: Constitution of Treason. According to SMNnews.com the…

Now we already saw 3 Inches of Blood diving into the world of shoes last month. Plus Vans has been doing the band branded shoes for a while including Bad Brains, Slayer, Iron Maiden etc. Now the legendary AC/DC and Metallica have decided you need to wear their logo on your feet. The Metallica Chuck Taylor high tops feature Ride The Lightning imagery on black and white.
AC/DC’s shoes featuring imaging of the band from Highway To Hell on the black version of the shoe and the red version features Angus Young and the phrase “Lock Up Your Daughters”. Finally, the perfect shoe for attacking Orcs! 3 Inches of Blood have teamed up with Nike 6.0 to create their own custom shoes named The Blood Oncore High. Obviously, they are high tops so you won’t get your socks messy when wading through blood.
From Nike:
“Inspired by Viking folklore and mythical carnage, 3IOB worked with the product team on custom materials and colors. The upper, constructed with premium distressed battle-worn leather is mixed with sanguine accents and the muted greens of rot and pestilence.
