Video: Ryan Adams – “Ashes & Fire”

A video has been released for the title track of Ryan Adams’ forthcoming album. Playing an acoustic version of the song, Adams sits and strums a red, white and blue guitar. He also appears to be wearing Mardi Gras beads. It sounds like he’s in top form, and we’re very much looking forward to hearing the rest of the album.

“Lucky Now” is the first track to hit the internet off of Ryan Adams’ forthcoming album Ashes & Fire. Adams has experimented with different sounds over the years, including rock n roll and metal, but now he’s back to his alt-country roots, which is when he’s at his best. He’s teamed up with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers’ keyboardist Benmont Tench to create this beautifully paired down track.

Ryan Adams Goes Metal, Sort of…

We know alt-country star Ryan Adams is a fan of metal as he often can be seen sporting tees of his favorite metal bands and he cites artists like Krallice in his year end lists, but his new track Electrosnake, which he claims to be his “most legit metal song ever” is pretty weak. Hopefully, the rest of the record shows some of that Krallice influence. Look out for this song and more to be released on vinyl on his own label under the band name Orion.
