Honestly, this new Fucked Up video for “The Other Shoe” video is pretty anti-climatic and basically just has a bunch of people walking around with seemingly no purpose. I love this song though, so if you haven’t heard it listen to it with some visuals.

Fucked Up continue to alienate hardcore punk purists with their latest offering “The Other Shoe” from the forthcoming David Comes To Life a rock opera about a guy who works at a light bulb factory. This song is amazing and as long as the rest of the record holds up it could possibly top the greatness that was The Chemistry of Common Life. Female vocals really sound nice against Damian’s rougher vocal style.

New LP from Sonic Youth frontman coming on May 24th, his first album produced by Beck Hansen.

Kurt Vile has posted another mp3 from his forthcoming record Smoke Ring For My Halo that will be out March 8th via Matador. From the tracks we have heard so far this album is shaping up to be pretty good. Now, Kurt should just turn down the reverb/echo on his vocals when performing live because he has a great voice. Matador will soon be celebrating their 21st birthday in style with a 3 day festival in Las Vegas. In honor of turning 21 the folk at Matador have put together a snazzy box set including 6 discs in custom digi-packs along with an 85 page booklet and 36 Matador poker chips.. The first 5 discs document different eras of the label while the sixth disc takes unreleased live tracks mostly from Pavement and Cat Power. All proceeds from the boxset will go to the charities The Jane Addams Hull House Association, The Ali Forney Center, The Heart Institute at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
