Chicago garage rockers White Mystery took New York by storm last week with a ton of shows including stops at Public Assembly, Death By Audio, Fireproof with Nobunny and another with RVIVR at Generation Records. Check out some photos of the red haired duo below.
Generation Records had one of the most stacked Record Store Day lineups with performances by Obits (pictured above), The Jay Vons, I Hate Our Freedom and Spa Castles along with DJ Sets from Yo La Tengo, Eric Davidson of New Bomb Turks, Tom Scharpling of WFMU’s Best Show, Bill Dolan and more. OFF! the new punk rock supergroup is doing everything like it’s the early 80s. The band got legends like Raymond Pettibon to do their 7 inch artwork and Glen Friedman showed up to shoot this in-store performance. Check out a few photos I snapped below.

On Friday January 8th, 2010, punk legend Eerie Von (Danzig, Samhain) will make a special in-store appearance at Generation Records on Thompson St. in New York City in support of his new photography book Misery Obscura: The Photography of Eerie Von (1981-2009).
Misery Obscura gives fans unique insight into the punk and metal scene of the 1980’s and early 90’s from the perspective one of its greatest stars, chronicling the rise of The Misfits, Rosemary’s Baby, Danzig, and Samhain through the worldwide success of the punk and metal scene as they tour with acts like Metallica and White Zombie.
Eerie Von will play a rare acoustic performance with Lyle Preslar (Minor Threat) and Mike D’Antonio (Killswitch Engage) during the in-store appearance at the store, and sign copies of Misery Obscura along with designer Tom Bejgrowicz.
The one-night-only event starts at 7:00 p.m, visit Generation Records website to find out all the details and pre-order the book.
