Honestly, this new Fucked Up video for “The Other Shoe” video is pretty anti-climatic and basically just has a bunch of people walking around with seemingly no purpose. I love this song though, so if you haven’t heard it listen to it with some visuals.

Photos of Fucked Up opening up for Dinosaur Jr’s latest tour performing Bug in it’s entirety. The band played some new songs like “Queen of Hearts” and “The Other Shoe” along with favorites like “I Hate Summer” and “Son The Father”.

The first video from Fucked Up’s David Comes To Life (the best album of the year so far) is for “Queen of Hearts” which features guest vocals from Madeline Follin of Cults as Veronica. The clip directed by Scott Cudmore features students being conducted by their teacher to sing along to the track.

Fucked Up’s new album is shaping up to be the album of the year and we have only heard two songs! The first two singles released, “The Other Shoe” and now “A Little Death” are both pushing the band forward into this territory of poppy experimental indie rock with hardcore sensibilities which they started to explore on The Chemistry of Common Life and they are nailing it. We picked up their David’s Town compilation for Record Store Day this weekend and if you can find it pick it up fast. Needless to say we are beyond excited to hear all 18 tracks of David Comes To Life comes out on June 7th.

Fucked Up‘s Town Comp is a limited edition 12″ for Record Store Day 2011 featuring 11 tracks not on the upcoming full length rock opera David Comes To Life featuring some snazzy retro cover art. (I already regret the use of “snazzy”) These songs create “a fictitious compilation album from a British town (where David Comes To Life is set) circa 1978-83, in the tradition of local punk, post-punk and DIY comps of the era”.

Fucked Up continue to alienate hardcore punk purists with their latest offering “The Other Shoe” from the forthcoming David Comes To Life a rock opera about a guy who works at a light bulb factory. This song is amazing and as long as the rest of the record holds up it could possibly top the greatness that was The Chemistry of Common Life. Female vocals really sound nice against Damian’s rougher vocal style.

From the Chunklet staff comes the new book “The Indie Cred Test” which was illustrated by Jesse LeDoux and co-designed by Henry Ownings and Aaron Draplin. The magazine is very funny and presumably the book will be equally or more humorous. Chunklet is also releasing the limited edition Fucked Up 12″ Coke Sucks Drink Pepsi and have been kind enough to offer both the 12″ and “The Indie Cred Test” for a cheaper package deal or separately at the Chunklet site.

A 12″ special live set recorded by these Canadians in Atlanta at the EARL last year. They barrel through a ton of originals and a cover of “Son of Sam” by Chain Gang. Damian espouses his love of Pepsi versus Coke and dedicates way too many songs to record collectors. Running time: 37 min.
