A nice looking book compiling showcasing pieces of art in sticker form including those of bands, graffiti artists, skateboard companies, clothing brands and much more…

With works by such diverse artists as Raymond Pettibon and Jenny Holzer; street artists such as Banksy, Neck Face, and Barry McGee; and amateur artists who “tag” the streets anonymously. With texts from artists and writers, including Swoon, Stanley Donwood, ESPO, Clayton Patterson, Carlo McCormick, and Michael Betancourt, Stickers illustrates not only the visual and social history of sticker art but also the personal relationship that street artists and pedestrians alike have with stickers. The book includes eight sheets of stickers, most of which are original works, by artists such as Barry McGee, Ryan McGinness, and José Parlá.

The book is available now. Check out some sample pages after the jump including one on the White Stripes and Sonic Youth.

“David Yow, legendary front man for The Jesus Lizard and Scratch Acid, makes his art exhibition debut with “SOLO: the first ever one-man exhibition of paintings, collage and digital drawings by David Yow” running Aug. 14 to Sept. 11 at DIY Gallery in Echo Park, Calif. The opening reception for SOLO, with Yow on hand as well as a celebratory evening featuring music and drinks, is Aug. 14 from 7:00 to 11:00 pm.”

Yow is one of the best frontman….ever. If you have seen him perform then you might imagine that his bizarre artwork probably seems pretty normal to him. Hopefully this show will hit New York as the artwork above and after the jump look amazing. More info on the DIY Gallery below as well.
