World-Painted-Blood-Slayer

Slayer have revealed the cover artwork for World Painted Blood, which is actually four different covers put together to make a map of the earth… wait for it… painted in blood! That’s not all the land masses on the map are made up of human skeletons. A deluxe CD/DVD version and 180 gram vinyl will also be available. I suppose you “Gotta Catch ‘em all!”

Album Art Spotlight | Clutch – "Strange Cousins From The West"

The Clutch artwork for Strange Cousins from the West looks spectacular. Full of diecuts, a guy with no face walking a dog and a fold out poster of a six armed Abe Lincoln. Plus it uses a piece of cork instead of the standard plastic to hold the cd in. Check out the video to see all the details below.

Iron Maiden: Flight 666 hits stores next week (June 9th) on blu-ray, dvd and 2xCD which includes 17 Maiden classics each performed in a different country. The documentary as a whole is pretty amazing to see the band trek through territories that are mainly uncharted for Metal Bands to play. The cover for the album is pretty basic, but what is cooler than Ed Force One flying above Iron Maiden?

Album Art Spotlight: Children – Hard Times…

This will be a new feature to spotlight album art each week. First up, is the new record from Kemado Records artist Children. The album cover of Hard Times Hanging at the End of the World is a mix between water color and pencil drawings. The hand made feel is a departure from most of the glossy designs and distressed text you see on metal covers today. This proves that even a rainbow can be acceptable in metal. Well at least if it is spewing from a bearded guy’s severed head. You can check out the track Power Spirit on their myspace. The song gives the vibe of what Slayer might sound like with classic rock guitar tones.
