Pulp to headline Isle of Wight Festival

The Saturday (June 11) headliner of next year’s Isle of Wight festival was announced today, and it is none other than PULP! Fans of these quintessential Britpoppers have already been rejoicing in the wake of the band’s announcement that they are reuniting for an unnamed number of shows next summer. These fans will surely want to secure their spots for the legendary festival, which occurs yearly in the town of Newport on the British Isle of Wight. From the festival’s website: John Giddings, the festival promoter, says; “When I heard they were reforming, I had to get them, they are the soundtrack of a generation.”

Tickets go on sale this Friday, November 19.

In case you need a refresher on how to dance like Jarvis Cocker before the show, here is the video for “Common People” from the band’s 1996 release Different Class. The lyrics “and screw” must have been too racy because they have muted out, but you can fill that part in yourself!
