We heard “Milkshake” live at Yuck‘s recent show at Webster Hall with Tame Impala and it’s well crafted pop song with the fuzz turned down. The track will be on a self released 7″.

Belle & Sebastian fans can rejoice, as the out of print Dear Catastrophe Waitress has been reissued on double 180g vinyl. Now you can listen to classic B&S lyrics such as “I’m sorry if he hit you with a full can of Coke, It’s no joke, Your face is bleeding” on your turntable, the way it was meant to be heard.

Check out a cut from the multi-talented Reggie Watts new 12″ Live From Third Man Records recorded as you may have guessed at Jack White’s Third Man Records in Nashville. Reggie’s shows are all so different we are just waiting for someone to start a fan site full of bootlegged lived shows. Get on that internet nerds.

From the Chunklet staff comes the new book “The Indie Cred Test” which was illustrated by Jesse LeDoux and co-designed by Henry Ownings and Aaron Draplin. The magazine is very funny and presumably the book will be equally or more humorous. Chunklet is also releasing the limited edition Fucked Up 12″ Coke Sucks Drink Pepsi and have been kind enough to offer both the 12″ and “The Indie Cred Test” for a cheaper package deal or separately at the Chunklet site.

A 12″ special live set recorded by these Canadians in Atlanta at the EARL last year. They barrel through a ton of originals and a cover of “Son of Sam” by Chain Gang. Damian espouses his love of Pepsi versus Coke and dedicates way too many songs to record collectors. Running time: 37 min.

Deftones have announced a covers LP to be released exclusively for Record Store Day on April 16th. The release will compile their various covers over the years including The Smiths, The Cure, Duran Duran, The Cars, Drive Like Jehu, Jawbox, Cardigans, Japan and Sade. No Weezer covers unfortunately. Another lo-fi pop gem from Colleen Green whose album Milo Goes To Compton occupied the cassette player in my car stereo for a couple of months last year. “Y Do You Call Me?” comes from the forthcoming Green One 7 inch on Hardly Art.

From the songs I have heard so far from The People’s Key, the album is shaping up to be one of his best and we are looking forward to seeing Bright Eyes at Radio City especially because of the killer openers they chose in Superchunk and Wild Flag. Murder by Death are releasing a vinyl box set complete with 10 records including a new 3 record rarities set titled Skeletons in the Closet. The set comes in a wooden box branded with the band’s name on it and includes some room for future releases. The wooden box set is limited to 250 pieces for $140 bucks and there is also a standard version for $130. Check it out at their web site.

Third Man Records have announced they will be reissuing the first three White Stripes records The White Stripes, De Stijl and White Blood Cells on 180 gram vinyl with each LP remastered from the original analog tapes with a method that ensures the material was not converted to a digital signal. Which according to the label will “result is an audio quality that stiffens the hairs on the back of your neck.”

Mogwai have announced the details of their new 7″ that will preview their new record Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will. The 7″ will include A side “Rano Pano” and “Hasenheide” on the B side. Album art is based on the classic Sub Pop Singles Club artwork. You can pre-order it from Sub Pop.

Slayer will be releasing the World Painted Blood 7″ with a previously unreleased track, “Atrocity Vendor,” as part of a special limited-edition single for Metal Club.
