New animated clip for the single “Not Enough” by Dinosaur Jr leader J Mascis who has made a fantastic folk album which shows us another side of his virtuoso guitar playing and brilliant songwriting.
Oddball video where Rainn Wilson murders the members of Blitzen Trapper. The only justification we can think of is that they ripped off Tom Petty’s sound too much.
Death From Above 1979 have posted footage of them rehearsing “Little Girl” as they gear up for their reunion at Coachella and Sasquatch this summer. Here’s to hoping they announce an NYC date soon because this video shreds.
New video from Yuck for one of my favorite tracks on the record “Get Away” which has some tour / live footage montage along with some hitchiking,Cat Fancy, kaleidoscope camera views, and watch out because it gets kind of sexy at the end.
The band has a crazy SXSW schedule with 9 performances before a tour kicks off with Tame Impala. Check out the dates below.
The first track released from the Arctic Monkeys‘ forthcoming 2011 release for the track “Brick By Brick” finds the band diving deeper into classic rock territory. In other “monkey news”, Alex Turner will be releasing the 6 Track Submarine EP on March 15th with new songs from the film of the same name directed by Richard Ayoade (The IT Crowd). The Ep will be released via CD, Digital and 10″ LP.
First new track to surface from The Black Lips new record Arabia Mountain produced by Mark Ronson. The song has some slicker production but still has the same swagger to it, plus the song fits perfectly to the old beach movie vibe the video gives off as it was filmed on the recent Bruise Cruise. The Vivian Girls co-star in the video.
Just another day full of video games, pot, snacks the cat, bling, printing money and riding the waves in Cali bros. Could of used a cameo from Timothy Stack though.
Radiohead’s first video from The King of Limbs (which you can download now if you ordered it) is up and features a stylish Thom Yorke (the hat brings to mind Tom Waits) doing some choreographed dancing in black and white. So far my first impressions of the album have me a bit disappointed because I was hoping they move forward with somewhat of a new sound, but this song in particular seems to sound closer to Yorke’s solo material. Will write a proper review upon soaking the album in more though.
The first video from The People’s Key comes for “Shell Games” and is directed by Nik Fackler. This is definitely one of the stand out tracks on the album which seems to channel some of his earlyish work on Lifted and Fevers and Mirrors.
The first clip from The Get Up Kids comeback album There Are Rules which features lead vocals from Jim Suptic (much like fan favorite “10 Minutes to Downtown”) as opposed to Matt Pryor who normally handles vocal duties.
Wow, this Yuck video for “Holing Out” looks like Beavis and Butthead should be watching this from the couch and maybe they will when the show returns this summer. I know we are only a month in, but Yuck’s self-titled album is one of my favorites of 2011 so far.
